Rudolph Steiner talked about the Four Spheres of the Higher Worlds and their interplay with the Macrocosm and the Microcosm. The soul and spirit interplay with the Mind and Body (mental and physical). Human beings have four "bodies" or spheres of activity, which correspond to 4 bodies, 4 kingdoms and 4 elements:
These spheres interact to create way for great synergy and health in the body when the elements align. When all four wheels can spin together, harmony can be garnered exponentially.
At FourWheel Wellness I adopt a 4 technique approach to generate synergy. Pressure (massage), Breath (client), Movement (stretching, yoga), and Release (meditation, stillness, letting go).
As a trained Yoga teacher and Massage Therapist, I intend to find a line in the body for health and follow that line through to reduced tension, and less pain in the trifold of Nerve, Muscle, and Skeletal interaction in the body.
There isn’t always one clear culprit when it comes to pain in the body. Tight muscles can put pressure on nerves and the skeletal system. Breath stress and thoughts affecting posture nerve signals and muscle guarding. Tight muscles can create holding patterns, shifting the bones, creating pain in the nervous system. Tight emotional space can put pressure on the nervous system and create tension in the muscular system. Poor posture patterns can put extra strain on certain muscles and shift nervous system action.
The muscles and nerves send signals to each other from the body to the brain and visa versa. Body response to a situation or feeling can create an emotional response which can in tern create a grooved memory in the body. We have to reteach the body to let go. This requires the mind and the body to act as one - breath, movement, applied force (can be gentle), and will to let go. Muscle holding patterns are constantly recreated in the body, for better or for worse. Affecting muscles can reduce pain in the muscle itself but also the musculoskeletal and nueoromuscular interplay. Feeling release, spaciousness, and reduced tension can create a new holding pattern, creating room for relaxation and relief.
Join me as I practice this ancient art and science of massage and play the chords of the body to sing a more synergistic song of holistic healing and deep relaxation.
